Mosaic Art Supplies

  • Grout – FInd a white grout or colored grout for your art project. Since Mosaic Art is sort of like tiling, the grout you get should be for decorative tiles.
  • Chipped Plateware, Pots Etc… – Keep your chipped plates and pots. You can use these for Mosaic Art. you can also go to a local thrift store and find elaborate china for relatively cheap prices. Stock up on all that you can get
  • Garbage or Cloth Bag – An old pillowcase will suffice. Place chipped plates and planters in the pillow case to break the pieces in a safe manner.
  • Potter Hammer or Rubber Hammer – Use a small rubber hammer for breaking up pottery. A metal hammer will break the pieces too fine. You want about 1 inch pieces.

Now you have all the supplies for a Mosaic Art project. Simply pick a mirror, picture frame or what ever you like and start forming a pattern. Use the grout to secure the pieces together and let it dry. Before you know it you will be a master at Mosaic Art.
